I hate having to prove myself. Particularly in the form of gassing myself up, and even more particularly in the realm of professionalism. I truly loathe promoting myself, no matter the capacity. Just the thought of proudly (smugly, more like...) stepping out to the world's inhabitants and declaring how skilled I am at whatever it might be makes my nose wrinkle in discomfort.

Something I love to do, though, is write. And writing has afforded me the ability to live the wildly independent life I've always dreamed of.

 

A big part of such a wildly independent life includes thinking for one's self, something I've taken to heart. Unfortunately (to the many men I've interacted with in my adult life), this independent mind of mine has made me a bit opinionated and vocal. 

 

I'm principled and thoughtful and also stubborn and obstinate. A deadly combo. A blessing and a curse, some may say.

But I digress. Because as I said before, I hate this part.
